Another sparrow of today: the Spanish sparrow is rarer even here in Spain and I usually don’t see more than 1-2 per year, so very lucky :-)
I went for a long (7.5km) hike today at my local CA, and I (finally!) managed to get the bird of the week.
I got Juncos and White-throated Sparrows.
Highlight of the day, though, was this guy:

I also got Dark-eyed Junco today, along with American Tree Sparrow.
A white cheeked barbet just visited my bird-pool!

That is super awesome! Congrats!
Thanks!
What is a CA?
Bird of the week poll.

I saw some kind of hawk or something today. It was fairly far off, and the pictures aren’t great, but I’m hoping it can be identified.

Eiders, Mandarins, Harlequins assemble!
Looks fine for Sharp-shinned Hawk! I downloaded the photo and played around with the editing settings, and I was able to make out some more ID features.
Ooh, that’s so cool! I’ve never seen one of those before. I very rarely see hawks!
Way to go! A new one for your list, then - awesome!
Also my six-hundredth species on iNat!
Bird of the week poll has been closed . The winner is the Ducks. Sometime this week try to find a Duck while out birding. Feel free to share you’re bird of the week experiences and knowledge with us. It’s a great opportunity to share each other’s knowledge on the species. Happy birding!
Mallards found in the meadow in my city! I’d wish to find some more exciting ducks but… mallards
Lol, I’d love to see a mallard irl, but they don’t exist in India. Instead we got spot-billed-ducks!
Very cool!
