Bluesky - news feed for scientists

Not for me - I already spend hours a day on iNat.
But there is already an active iNat presence there

With a ‘good’ science feed

If you’re a fan of the open web, I could add that there’s plenty of fun iNat activity on Mastodon too (you can follow the tag #iNaturalist: https://mastodon.social/tags/inaturalist). For example, this evening I learned about this spider mimicking ant in Singapore.

You can connect Mastodon through to Bluesky and vice versa using Bridgy Fed so you can get the best of both worlds (that’s for users that turn that bridge on for their accounts, it’s opt in—If you choose Bluesky, please do turn it on, by following @ap.brid.gy).

You’ll see my iNaturalist tagged posts on that Bluesky feed above, but they’re all from me being active on Mastodon. It’s the way an open social media ecosystem should be working.

Your link leads to an account: iNaturalist By ‪@carancho.bsky.social‬

I thought the official one was: inaturalist.bsky.social By @inaturalist.bsky.social
which has no posts at all.

Are there multiple iNat Bluesky accounts?

I think, tiwane said he would look into adding more social media to their daily social media feeds. I see their FB posts.

I doubt “inaturalist.bsky.social” is an official account, it is remarkably empty and not even verified. Looks more like a placeholder/namesquatting account.

If so, I’m not the only person confused. In a recent iNat bolg post, I asked about iNat on Bluesky and was given that same link by another commenter.
