Changing device orientation (portrait to landscape) while typing comments make it disappear sometimes

I was typing a comment using the android app and my device changed orientation from portrait to landscape and then back to portrait and all that I typed so far seem to vanish. It shows me the

While trying to replicate the bug I noticed that if I put the device back to landscape the comment text field with all I typed is still there though, so the bug is when you change from landscape to portrait and the textfield is set to be invisible/gone.

By “comment” I’m assuming you’re writing a comment on an existing observation? I’m not able to replicate this on my Nexus 5 running 8.1.0. Here’s what I did:

  1. In portrait orientation, I picked an observation of mine, chose “Add a comment”

  2. Wrote “Blah blah”.

  3. Changed to landscape orientation and wrote a third “blah”

  4. Changed back to portrait orientation.

Is this what you did?

Hello tiwane, thanks for answering.

Yes, it happens when I’m writing a comment to an observation.

I took some pics of what is happening in my device and assembled them here:

Also the same behavior happens if I minimize the application with something typed on the text box and I try to resume the application again (changing orientation makes the text appear).

Hope this makes it clear.
