"Complex" and many other ranks not available in Low/High Rank pulldowns on Identify Filter Screen

I think this is a bug not a feature request?

In the experimental mapping tool, I am able to use lrank=Complex, but Complex is missing from the Rank filters on the Identify Filter Screen. Can it be added? Are there any other taxon levels not represented?

Missing ranks include:

  • Infraclass
  • Subterclass
  • Parvorder
  • Zoosection
  • Zoosubsection
  • Subgenus
  • Section
  • Subsection
  • Complex
  • Infrahybrid

One complication is that there are genus complexes and species complexes at different ranks. (I’m not sure if there are any others.)

I noticed subgenus is not available earlier today.

There is only one Complex rank available in iNaturalist. Here is the list of all the possible ranks between Family and species that can be used to create taxa in iNaturalist:

Family
Subfamily
Supertribe
Tribe
Subtribe
Genus
Genushybrid
Subgenus
Section
Subsection
Complex
Species

I just noticed this too. You can manually edit the URL by adding &lrank=complex but it’s nice not to have to do that. None of the following ranks are available:

  • Infraclass
  • Subterclass
  • Parvorder
  • Zoosection
  • Zoosubsection
  • Subgenus
  • Section
  • Subsection
  • Complex
  • Infrahybrid

Bumping this, I noticed it about a week ago and it’s quite an inconvenience for me.

This one was fixed back in May.
