A retired former neighbor started making mini documentaries about wildlife in the greenbelt behind his house (coyotes, owls, deer) using footage from several camera traps. I like this new one showing this year’s coyote pups in the local coyote pack (about 10 minutes).
That was phenomenal! Thank you for sharing. I do not know much about coyotes but my heart went out to that mom; at one point her pups looked like a swirling ocean, so many.
this is a very nice ‘mini-documentary’. The narration, editing, and emphasis on the behavioral connections within the Coyote group (the shared labor/effort) is very interesting…so much to learn from watching this (canid behavior). I will recommend and share…and an effective template for others to see the power of the documentary style for being attentive, patient, and observant. The other lesson is: so much to see and learn from - in our backyard, in a nearby green space, a park within walking distance. Nature is right there…
Yeah, I loved that this was backyard nature! I also liked how he closed it with the den being now visited by other creatures. It felt very continuum of cycle of habitat-y. (I don’t know how to word that but I know what I mean.)
Wow, that is lovely!
I feel blessed to have coyotes on my property; it is always a thrill to hear them singing, or see them sauntering through the field - sometimes with my own eyes, sometimes only captured by a game camera. But I have never had any indication that they are denning or rearing pups nearby.
But I hope they are, and now I can easily imagine it.
Thanks for sharing that!
