Why are fewer and fewer species shown at https://www.inaturalist.org/observations?user_id=felix_riegel&view=observers even though I enter new species almost every day? At https://www.inaturalist.org/people/1374169 15,677 are shown. At https://www.inaturalist.org/observations?user_id=felix_riegel&view=observers 14,460 are shown.
welcome to the forum
those two pages are counting ‘species’ in two different ways; see https://www.inaturalist.org/pages/how_inaturalist_counts_taxa
your first link is counting leaves, whereas the second is counting taxa identified to species rank only
Thank you for the tip. My main question is why the number of species decreases at https://www.inaturalist.org/observations?user_id=felix_riegel&view=observers when I enter new species.
Yesterday there were 14,460, today 14,444, even though I also entered new species yesterday. In the last few weeks, over 550 fewer species have been displayed despite entering new species.
on October 19, 2024, there were
Lacipa picta
Nola tineoides
Cyphia heterophylla
Crassula sarmentosa
Carex capensis
new species
Crithagra scotops ssp. umbrosa (not counted as a new subspecies)
