I love that plant! I’m no hunter of supernaturals by any means, but when I first found ghost pipe, I kind of considered alien invasion as an option, since I had no idea that this plant existed.

Melissodes spp! I planted a ton of native plants this spring, and right now Vernonia gigantea (Ironweed) and Helenium autumnale (Sneezeweed) are my main bloomers. Every time I look there are so many Longhorn Bees all over them! For me they’re kind of my first success story with my native plants, especially since one is a specialist on ironweed.

Ironweed is so pretty
I have red Cantharellus in my woods. I forage for them every year, and in a good year I can get up to 2 pounds of them!
