Filter all animals living in fresh water

Hello.

Although I don’t really believe it, I was wondering if it was possible, in “Explore” mode, to ask the site to display all freshwater animals.

Not with the default filters. However you could combine the filters of various collection projects and get something close to what you want, depending on the quality of the projects’ filter lists.

Here are some examples of projects you’d want to include:
Freshwater Fish Species of the World (complete)
Freshwater Bivalves of the World
Freshwater Gastropods of the World
As well as amphibians, arthropods, etc. Try using this search filter to look for more projects that fit: Search: “freshwater”, Projects

So, I haven’t yet searched for projects.

How do I perform this type of search? In the classic filter?

It’s just the main search bar, and then the projects tab. I searched for “freshwater” in general but you could add more specific keywords in addition to that.

Are you talking about the search bar circled in red in the image?

No, the site-wide search (not observation search) is on the menu bar at the very top of the screen, on the left next to the “iNaturalist” logo

Or you can go to “Communauté” and then “Projects” (or whatever they are called in French, second item in the dropdown menu after “People”) and use the search bar there.

For spiphany’s second option, on the website it looks like this (in English):

Then from within projects you can use the search box for any terms you like:
