Not sure if this has been discussed before, but it might be helpful for identifiers to be able to choose a taxon that they are most likely to be IDing, such that genera and species in that group preferentially show up when typing in a species name. I run into this a lot where there is some plant or other organism that always shows up first when trying to type in a shorter phrase for the species name (see screenshot for an example). In my case I am unlikely to be adding an ID that is not an Orthopteran, so ideally I’d like to have orthopteran genus/species names at the top of the list for ease of moving through IDs. Just a thought.
if you find that 3x3 shortcuts come up with your target taxa too far down the list, try 4x4. For me, there is little difference in time to type 3x3 vs 4x4, and the 4x4 pretty much comes with my desired taxa at top of list every time.
