Well, I guess I did not define the issues clearly in each of these threads, so there is some overlap.
However, the core questions/issues are somewhat different, as I gained more information/a better understanding of how my questions can be misinterpreted and refined my questions accordingly.
- https://forum.inaturalist.org/t/testing-the-computer-vision-capabilities-what-are-valid-practices/41354 is more about pitfalls and gotchas in the general procedure (although I got into detail about what I am planning to do).
- https://forum.inaturalist.org/t/is-there-some-api-identification-request-without-creating-an-observation/41309 was declared “solved” but it clearly was not. Maybe i did not define my question clear enough or there were other misunderstandings. With these “failed discussions” in mind, I wrote started this new thread. I think I would rather delete the old ones, since I was in the process of finding out what precisely I want to know. The answers clearly showed that my questions were not understood correctly. Thus, I felt the need to make clear that doing all the tasks manually will not be feasible and that it does not help me to know that three years ago, somebody wrote that as of then there was no publicly available CV API.
