Im using microsoft edge for the browser. My export table has about 40,000 rows, is this excessive? I’m trying to make a map of Insect, Arthropod, and Mullosc observations by U.S. counties in 5 year intervals (2010, 2015, 2020). Im still trying to export the 2010 table, its been over 20 minutes and the “recent exports” section just says processing. Is there a better way of getting a table containing the data I’m looking for?
Welcome to the forum! Did you try using GBIF? For most applications, this is the best way to access iNat data.
how many counties and how many species are you dealing with?
Sometimes they take several hours. I use the email notification feature for large exports.
Small exports of like 100-1000 observations usually process in less than a minute.
20 minutes so far for an export of 40,000 records is completely normal. If it went past an hour without being downloaded yet, that’s when I would start to think something had gone wrong.
It also depends on how many columns you’ve included, and what time of day (peak activity vs off-peak) you’re downloading.
