My question is how to add a custom observation field on the website for our own observations and other’s observation, but mostly our own observation. Especially when there is limited annotations available.

Be careful to make sure first that there’s not already a field that does what you want. There are already quite a few duplicate fields with the same function but slightly different names, which can be confusing.

Oh thanks took me awhile to find the button for new fields. I have a question on the format of how to write out the values of the text. How do I add in a pipe to separate the values? I am working on my laptop and have no idea how to add a pipe.
If by pipe you mean the vertical line | on my keyboard it is on the same key as the backslash \. This is the key directly above enter. Backslash appears when not using the shift key, pipe appears when using the shift key. Whether yours in the same depends on how different keyboards are from one computer to another.

yes that what I tried and did not work. i have a dell laptop if that helps with my question.
it’s surprising to me that your keyboard would not allow you to input a pipe, but if your keyboard isn’t working, just copy and paste a pipe character from some reference text, like this: |
