I take a lot of photos and identify most things in the field. When home, I continue to receive emails with other folks identifying my posts exactly what they were tagged as. Why am I getting these duplicated ID’s?
Because every id should be proven by somebody else, on iNat your id will be agreed on if it’s correct, this allows observation that gets a Research Grade to be shown on GBIF and other platforms, linked with iNat, as well as excludes it from the list of observations that need an id.
You can also turn off email notifications.
