Identification help from iNaturalist

Description of problem (please provide a set of steps we can use to replicate the issue, and make as many as you need.):

Step 1: Post observation

Step 2: Click on ID box

Step 3: Wait for suggested IDs. At this point iNaturalist recently started suggesting “Plant” or “Bird” (for examples) as the ID instead of showing a similar plant or bird. If i erase the generic ID and try again then suggested specific IDs are listed. If I view one, when I return to the ID box the generic suggestion is back. This process is inconvenient and frustrating.

Yes, please fill in the template for bug reports - the info is requested because it is usually required for a meaningful answer. In this case, without the info requested in the template, and ideally a screenshot or two showing the behavior, we won’t be able to diagnose whether it is a bug, and if so, how to address it.
