If organisms had theme songs

Maybe I am have too much time to think about things since I am staying inside most of the time now, but I saw a small moth in my bathroom yesterday. It was very small, maybe four or five millimeters long, and it had silvery wings. This iota of a moth was drinking water droplets on the wall next to the towels. It was fascinating. Unfortunately, by the time I got my phone out, it left.

While I was sad, it got me thinking, if organisms had theme songs, what would they be? For some reason, I kept on thinking of spiders. How they moved their eight legs in a coordinated fashion. It remined me of how horses run, where for a very brief moment, all of the horse’s legs are off the ground. Almost like they were hopping or doing mini-jumps. And then it hit me. The Sorcerer’s Apprentice theme song from Fantasia. Now, I cannot get the idea from my head of the music syncing with movements of any spider. Especially Daddy Long’s Legs.

If I had fun coming up with a theme song for an organism, why couldn’t anyone else?

Whenever I’m scuba diving and see a shark gliding towards me, I can’t help but hear Mars from Holst’s The Planets in my head. It just seems right.

I think M4 Part II by Faunts (yeah I love Mass Effect what can I say) totally fits lichen! “Fight your foes you’re not alone” “Because I can’t make it on my own” I just imagine the algae talking to the fungi while they are both this strange single entity. Idk it’s pretty whacky but I like it.

“Teddy Bear’s Picnic” for black and brown bears.

If you go out in the woods today, you’re in for a big surprise…

I’m partial to one of the many Banjo-kazooie variations on the theme https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EfNTsa17FiQ

Nada Surf actually wrote one for fruit flies (called Fruit Fly) that makes a hilarious melancholic species theme song for them. Sometimes I hear the song in my head when I watch the “jerky patterns” they fly in the kitchen

One of my favorites! When I was a kid, a local pizza place had a big pipe organ and my dad’s friend was one of the organists. He would play Flight of the Bumblebee for me and I was always thrilled by it.

I knew what this was gonna be before I clicked.

Flight of the Bumblebee :) It’s a wonderful piece of music, and totally appropriate!

For gastropods I guess it would be "Slippin’ and a Slidin’ " by Little Richard.

I want to find out how many people answer this question having not read the replies that have already happened.

Plus I am also wondering if your question was rhetorical.

I asked it before any answers came in. I legitimately did not know there was a song called

I thought it would be named something different.

So many references to Flight of the Bumblebee, which was from an opera… how about Die Fledermaus Overture for bats?

Sometimes when i am out and about scuba diving and come across an area with much corals and marine life, especially when there is shoals of fish swimming above me as well, i keep getting “Aquarium” from Carnival of the Animals by Saint-Saens in my head (might even start humming it).

If you do too many IDs in one sitting, you start getting punchy and hearing “Jadera, Jadera…” to the tune of “Shakira, Shakira…” Wait, that’s just me?
