Please fill out the following sections to the best of your ability, it will help us investigate bugs if we have this information at the outset. Screenshots are especially helpful, so please provide those if you can.

Platform (Android, iOS, Website): Android

App version number, if a mobile app issue (shown under Settings or About): 1.29.18

Browser, if a website issue (Firefox, Chrome, etc) :

URLs (aka web addresses) of any relevant observations or pages:

Screenshots of what you are seeing (instructions for taking a screenshot on computers and mobile devices: https://www.take-a-screenshot.org/):

Description of problem (please provide a set of steps we can use to replicate the issue, and make as many as you need.): sometimes when i Ctrl an image it just disappears. It’s happened numerous times. And i often don’t have the image anymore.

Step 1: upload observation with images

Step 2: crop images

Step 3: after cropping an image and clicking check mark the image is gone

Cannot reproduce this on a Android 1.29.18 (592).

Agree that the app does not work properly if I have lack of storage on my Android phone, resulting in loss of observations.

From time to time I experience a similar problem - most prominently when rotating pictures and trying to save the change. I guess it has to do with memory shortage of my phone, as it is working very slowly when this happens.

I cleared the cache on phone. This is a new phone so not sure if that is the problem. I’m afraid to update things now.

I got another new phone. The app will just crash at times no matter what I’m doing. I just deal with it.

Which device are you using? We record crashses by device type.

I have a Pixel 8. I’ll be looking at Activities and the app just closes.

OK, thanks. Next time it crashes can you please re-open the app and send us log files from it? To send log files, go to the About tab in the iNaturalist app and tap three times on the version number. You will then have the option to email the log files to us.
