I have been very inactive this year (2025) on iNaturalist, and I suspect that I’m going to be inactive for probably a few more months at the very least. I was wondering if there was a requirement for curators to be active, and if I should ask for my curator role to be removed since it’s likely I’ll be inactive (and not doing curatorial tasks) for extended periods of time?
Nope, no rules about inactivity!
There are people requesting that inactive curators be removed, but no such rule has been implemented as of now
EDIT: They may have only been referring to inactive curators who had never gone through the current application process
I’m not familiar with any other requests than mine linked above, which refers to curators who never went through the application process, not really the inactivity itself.
I had thought that some of the users commenting on that request wanted to do it based on inactivity
