I have custom-ordered 3.5" pins to promote various nonprofit causes that I’m involved with, but a pin is only practical for events (workshops, etc.). It’s not practical for iNatting, when you’re squatting down, crawling around, etc.
You can grab the iNat logo and custom-make whatever you want. Lots of websites allow you to order any item of clothing with any image of your choice. Honestly I’m not a fan of the Threadless offerings, although I did start with this one t-shirt.
Can I use the iNaturalist logo when linking to iNaturalist?
Yes, with the caveat that its use in context should not imply endorsement by iNaturalist, and sale of items with the iNaturalist logo is not permitted.
So I think making your own shirt or hat is ok as long as you’re not selling them to other people. I’ve used the logo on flyers that we handed out when asking people to report sightings of a rare plant that’s found around my town.
no one will ever stop you from making fan merch for your own personal use, especially if iNat doesn’t offer similar merch for sale. just don’t use your merch to imply that you’re more than a fan and don’t harm the brand or their merch revenue stream.
This is a completely normal notification all over the world. It’s simply letting you know that the item was allowed to be exported from its country of origin is now in the hands of the domestic branch responsible for delivery. This notification is generally before customs at the destination country, so in certain cases you may get another notification telling you that it passed customs, or that it has been detained and more information is needed from you.
Basically, it’s peace-of-mind notification and is pretty straightforward.
Where I live a lot of the things I order come in internationally, so I deal with this on a regular basis
