Here’s a list of iNat updates for November 2025.

General

  • iNat brought on new members to the staff and board!
  • Released the iNat Year in Review! You can scroll to the bottom of the page to see network site Year in Reviews, and you can go here to generate one for your account! Site-wide Year in Reviews will be updated every Sunday in December (US time), and on January 1st, 2026.
  • Held a webinar for people interested in helping out with identifying, and how to be an identifier even if you aren’t an expert
  • Updated the Computer Vision model, which now has 1,500 more taxa

Android

No new release.

New iNaturalist App (currently iPhone only)

Version 1.0.11 released on November 19th, mostly minor updates and bug fixes.

Legacy iOS & iPadOS

  • No new version released

Seek

  • mostly minor bug fixes and updates
  • removed the one finger slide-to-zoom as it prevented two-finger “normal” zoom from working on Android device.

Here is wrong link, to previous point.
BTW, could this change break handling of coordinates parsing?
I make observations via site with photos from phone with enabled locations and with photos from camera, which have locations added manually via geosetter.
Previously all photos update they locations simultaneously with datetime, but now phone photos do the same way, but photos from camera doesn’t. It shows datetime, next uploaded to the server and after that the location is shown. It is quite annoying.

I can make a bug with attached files, if needed.

Yes, please do. And if you can email examples of each type of photo to help@inaturalist.org, that would be great. Please send them as attachments, not in the body of the email.
