Here’s a list of iNat updates for October 2025. Sorry for the recent break in this, I’m trying to get back on track now.
General
- Added functionality to help curators with trivial taxon changes, and ways to flag/mark inaccurate or artificially generated evidence.
- Made update about a demo that will explore ways to learn from the community’s expertise.
- The Great Southern Bioblitz was held!
- Some iNat members attended the Living Data 2025 conference in Bogotá and at the TEDxBoston conference. It was great to meet folks in person!

Added the functionality listed above in General, and some smaller things like Say what the Community Taxon is in the DQA in the “Based on the evidence…” Data Quality Assessment metric.

Released version 1.37.2 (638) Fixes include:
- Better compatibility when recording sounds on some Samsung devices
- Fixed some issues with locality notes being overwritten when using pinned locations
- Fixed some problems with some observation fields and projects
- Crash fixes
