Incorrect Wikipedia article shown for the genus Haumea

https://www.inaturalist.org/taxa/995806-Haumea

The page for the genus Haumea on the iNaturalist website incorrectly shows the Wikipedia article for the dwarf planet Haumea. I’m not sure how this manged to slip through.

This probably isn’t a bug. There was no iNat taxon ID in Wikidata, so the system chose the wrong page to display. Anyone can add these to Wikidata, but I already added it here (it might take a little bit to update).

Hopefully that should fix it, but the system is a little buggy. You can flag the genus if the issue persists.

That’s funny.

I wonder if there’s an iNat equivalent for amateur astronomers?

Just a heads up, for future reference please flag a taxon directly if you find an issue like this. You can do that by going to the taxon’s page, clicking on Curation, then “Flag for curation”.

Alright

I don’t think so. It’s already super easy to identify a celestial object yourself.

It’s not exactly the same, but if you are into ID-ing here on inaturalist, Zooniverse is similar to that.

Adding the iNaturalist taxon ID to Wikidata appears to have fixed the issue.
