The common name “Peruvian Lily” refers to a whole genus, Alstroemeria, which has a lot of species and a LOT of cultivars. Looking at the Wikipedia and iNat pages for the genus, while there are lists of all the species, most species don’t have their own Wiki pages or specific observations.
I was hoping to draw one of each sp. of Alstroemeria as a gift for a dear friend (in lieu of flowers for Valentine’s Day), because they said their favorite flower was the Peruvian Lily and were surprised when I told them later that it had so many spp. Do y’all know where I might find a reference for this? Is there a book of Alstoemeria spp. or something that I ought to get my hands on? Maybe a field guide of Peruvian Lilies?
I apologize if this is a silly or ignorant question-- I’m still relatively new to all of this, and I figured y’all would be the best people to ask.
