Make a separate color for endemic species

If you go to the species view of the explore page, you will see that at the upper right corner of each species is a square with a letter in it. This can be either a pinkish square with an IN for introduced, a green square with an N for native, or a green square with an E for endemic, like this:

When scrolling through the species found in a given location or taxon, I find it difficult to quickly distinguish which species are native and which are endemic. It would be helpful if you could mark the endemics with a separate color (I thought blue could be nice), like in this mock-up:

And while we’re at it, there’s a star on observations of endemics next to the species name at the top:

I thought this could be changed too:

Thank you for reading this far and I hope to hear your comments soon!

I was thinking blue as well

But, endemic to what? A mountain range, state/province, continent? The term is used rather broadly on iNat and I find it not very useful.

Not that I’m opposed to a color change.

I think it is related to the location you are filtering your search, otherwise it won’t show.

I don’t know, ask the iNat staff.

I like this idea. I’d use a less saturated shade of blue, though

Yes, I agree. There was a limited color palette on the computer I was using.

Apologies, I shouldn’t have approved this request because we’re not approving requests for the Explore page. @oksanaetal please go to the official thread to add your thoughts there.

I’ve set this to close tomorrow.
