Like many iNaturalist users, I am not well-versed in every single species that exists in my patch. There have been several occasions where the automatic identification bot has suggested US species while these are not known to be in the UK. Whilst the community ID usually solves the mis-identification, it would be far more efficient to offer species known to live in the region you are in.
Hi Luke! Welcome and thanks for the feedback. This category is for feedback about the forum, rather than iNaturalist itself. You can propose a feature request in that specific category. However, in this case refining the suggestions that computer vision gives has already been proposed and the iNat team is working on it:
