Recently I’ve been adding species to the check-list for a project I’m running and found that there doesn’t seem to be any way to get to the check-list directly from the project page.
You can go the list of actual observations with no problem, but the check-list page seems to be inaccessible from the project page, requiring a circuitous process to get to it.
It would be very helpful if there was a button on the project page that took a user directly to the check-list page as that’s a very useful resource when attempting to identify an unknown organism.
Which project is it? Collection projects were not designed to have checklists, and traditional projects have a project checklist that is used mainly for the “must be in project list” rule.
One of the weird results I’m getting was posted in the question forum, but it’s that the observed taxa results are far higher for the Locations that are entirely within the Project areas, despite those Locations having been added to the project and being of a smaller area that’s completely contained by the project.
Having a check-list for the area is important as a verification tool. I have species lists for the region, but they’re riddled with errors of all sorts and not available to everyone. A check-list helps to identify and weed out those errors, identify which are unresolved species names, and to provide a more reliable resource of species that should be found in the area that’s accessible by all.
I’m sure I’m missing something really simple, but I can’t seem to see what it is.
Either way, it would be nice to be able to get to the checklist directly from the project page. I’ve bookmarked it, but in the past I could only find the project checklist page via a Google search.
