Description of need:
Describe the iNaturalist community need that your requested feature addresses. Include screenshots, URLs, and other details to help us all understand the issue.

It seems that there is no way to manually sort the order of the species in personal lists made by a user. I would like the ability to sort the order of species in these personal lists, not by taxa, which appears to already be an option, but by however the user wants them sorted, such as:

  • Sorting species in bucket lists by priority
  • Sorting species in the default “Favorite Taxa list” so that a user’s very favorite species are at the top, and aren’t moved when the user adds more species (For example, I want the Northern Bobwhite to be the first species on my Favorites Taxa list when viewed on my profile. At the moment, when I add a new species to favorites, the bobwhite gets pushed down)

Feature request details:
In detail, describe the feature you are requesting. This includes its functionality, where the feature is implemented, and what it might look like. Screenshots or mock-ups are helpful. The idea is to have a concrete and actionable request which the community can discuss and vote on. It might change through discussion, but it’s much easier to iterate and talk about something specific.

I think for manual sorting of taxa in personal lists made by users, a simple drag-and-drop type option would be best if this feature were to be implemented.

Hopefully my request makes sense; I understand that this is a trivial request, but I would like the ability to sort lists.

Yes! This is such a simple detail, but it has been bugging me like crazy  Maybe I’m overly fastidious, but I would love to be able to manually order my favourite taxa list, instead of having to delete and re-enter each taxa until I’m satisfied
