Mollusk taxon framework now extends to subspecies, restricts all editing to mollusk curators

As a regular curator, I am unable to make any edits to the mollusk tree. It looks like the taxon framework downstream coverage has been updated to subspecies, meaning that no curator can edit any taxon at subspecies level or higher. It used to only extend to family. I am OK with wanting to add more taxon framework relationships, but it would make a lot more sense to open this to all curators. I’m guessing this happened today, and that numerous relationships were added automatically.

I noticed that too

Thanks for letting me know about this. Given the fact that there are a LOT of missing mollusca taxa, this seems like a bad idea. Two curators for this taxon is probably not enough.

And there doesn’t appear to be a Mollusca working group, as is required by the Curator Guide, so that suggests, again that this was done in error. https://www.inaturalist.org/projects/inaturalist-taxonomic-working-groups

Yeah I’m guessing this was implemented to add more framework relationships without intending to restrict editing to the 3 taxon curators. Cephalopods have always been this way so they do have a working group, but there isn’t one for the whole phylum.

This appears to have been fixed. The framework still exists, but regular curators can make edits.
