"More filters" menu closes unexpectedly

Platform: Website, happens on both Chrome and Firefox

URL: As an example, https://www.inaturalist.org/observations?user_id=reuvenm

Description of problem:

1. Navigate to a URL like the above, that specifies a user_id or project_id (it has to be via URL, if you enter the filters using the normal interface this bug does not occur)
2. Open the “filters” menu. The “more filters” menu will already be open.
3. Click the “x” next to the user or project specified.
4. The “more filters” window will instantly close, instead of letting you type in another user or project.

This is probably a pretty rare case, as it can only occur when someone is following a link or editing a url, and then changing the filters using the menu. But it was pretty annoying for me today, as after the “more filters” menu closes, my mouse is lined up with the “reset search filters” button, and I got caught in a cycle of repeatedly clicking this button and having to go back in the browser before I figured out what was going on.

I was also able to replciate if I click on “Your observations” then remove my username from the filters. Made a github issue here: https://github.com/inaturalist/inaturalist/issues/4177

i wonder if something as minor as this would even be worth spending any time on? weren’t there plans back in the day to redo the whole page anyway?

Perhaps not but I figure it’s my job to report the bugs and staff’s job to decide on their priority :)
