Refreshing a page changes filters and returns a user to page 1

Platform: iOS, Website

Browser: Firefox and Chrome

Screenshots of what I’m seeing:

Step 1: Click Explore.

Step 2: Go to Filters. Uncheck Verifiable. Select Unknown category. Select a month. Sort by Ascending. Select No under “Reviewed.” (See screenshot 1.)

Step 3: Open an observation on the page. Exit that observation. Open another observation. Exit that observation. Go to another page and repeat Step 3 (see screenshot 2). (May need to repeat Step 3 several times to see the bug.)

When these steps are followed and the page automatically refreshes, you’ll soon find that when you exit an observation, the filter option Verifiable will unexpectedly be checked. If you uncheck Verifiable, you’ll be returned to page 1, even if you didn’t want to be on that page. (See screenshot 3.)

I frequently work on Unknowns, and this bug has made it very frustrating to do my work because it repeatedly shows me Verifiable observations and returns me to the first page of results, even if I was (say) 30 pages deep.

This happens to me quite a bit to, I am wondering if it is something on chrome.

Maybe related to this? https://forum.inaturalist.org/t/status-of-verifiable-checkbox-does-not-persist-across-species-links/55852/

Any reason you don’t use the Identify page instead of Explore? It’s much, much more efficient.

Thank you for the link! I’ll look into that.

To be honest, I never thought of working from the Identify page  I’ll try it out!
