I’m starting to find this quite amusing! Observation in question: https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/48857097
EDIT:
Playing with it more was not a good idea…
Edit again:
This is what I saw, both times, in my browser (of course, I edited the element names), but now reloading my browser and there is only four annotations. I’m on Firefox & Linux (Debian), if that helps.
The good news is that we’re pretty sure we can fix these and prevent them in the future. The bad news is that doing so will require site downtime, so it won’t happen until the next downtime, and I we don’t know exactly when that will be.
Is it worth compiling more examples of this bug when we encounter it, or are we just hoping that the whole issue will go away forwards and backwards whenever the next downtime happens?
I stumbled across this one today (not my observation, so I can’t say what clicking sequence he did). It has been dynamic, though-- when I first noticed it, there were 2x life stage, and now I see there are 3x. https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/61375512
I don’t think more examples are necessary, but thanks!
