Moving between 2 observations in identify URL duplicates annotations

Please fill out the following sections to the best of your ability, it will help us investigate bugs if we have this information at the outset. Screenshots are especially helpful, so please provide those if you can.

Platform (Android, iOS, Website): Website

App version number, if a mobile app issue (shown under Settings or About):

Browser, if a website issue (Firefox, Chrome, etc) : Chrome

URLs (aka web addresses) of any relevant observations or pages: https://inaturalist.ca/observations/identify?quality_grade=needs_id%2Cresearch%2Ccasual&taxon_id=48662&place_id=13336&photos=true&without_term_id=1&month=6%2C7

Description of problem (please provide a set of steps we can use to replicate the issue, and make as many as you need.): Loading one of the 2 observations noted in URLs, adding an annotation, and switching between them in the Identify page causes the value that you just added an annotation to to duplicate. This does not go away even after going off these observations unless you reload the page.

Step 1: Go to https://inaturalist.ca/observations/identify?quality_grade=needs_id%2Cresearch%2Ccasual&taxon_id=48662&place_id=13336&photos=true&without_term_id=1&month=6%2C7

Step 2: Add a “cannot be determined” annotation to Alive or Dead to an observation

Step 3: Switch between two observations (One with the Alive or Dead annotation, one without) using the < > arrows

Step 4: Repeat Step 3 multiple times

Just tried something, and I can now consistantly replicate this:
Put the following annotations on an observation (I’m using this identify link)
image

Then switch between 2 observations using the arrow keys on a keyboard.

It then duplicates the “Alive or Dead” Attribute

the underlying value for “cannot be determined” is 20 for both “alive and dead” and “sex”. the system might be mixing those up somehow.

Description of problem:

  1. Set Identify page to the filters in the hyperlink above
  2. Find an observation with an “Alive or Dead - Cannot Be Determined” annotation
  3. Scroll to another observation with the same annotation without returning to the observation grid
  4. Watch the annotations multiply!

I’ve experienced this bug a lot since my debut on iNat

I believe this might be related to https://forum.inaturalist.org/t/moving-between-2-observations-in-identify-url-duplicates-annotations/47014

Yes it’s the same bug. I’d like it fixed though!

Merged reports.
