Nearby button in Explore Filter Not Working?

I filled out this bug report on my phone because that is where my screenshots are. I can see the form completed when I edit it, but not when I save. Maybe the post needs to be approved before it displays? Maybe the form didn’t save correctly?

Here is the issue restated:
App version:

Issue:
Nearby Button in Explore Filter not updating the location.

Step 1: Edit location in Explore filters
Step 2: press the Nearby button. It grays out and doesn’t not update the location

Step 3: There is a prompt about settings not being updated when I try to close the filter.

I have the same problem and I would like to add that when I try to filter observations by a city or town, such as Bellingham in Washington, it shows that there no observations when there are clearly lots of observations in Bellingham since I’ve been posting observations in the Sehome Hill area tons in the past week and I know other observers have been posting observations in Bellingham too, especially since WWU is in Bellingham and INaturalist has been used by many of the courses in the College of the Environment programs for educational and research purposes

I’m not able to replicate this in the latest internal beta, so I believe it’s been fixed.

Thanks for reporting. When you go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services > iNat Next, what do you see on that screen? I think I can replicate what you’re seeing if I’m allowing location access with “Ask Next Time Or When I Share” turned on. After being prompted for location and accepting, the nearby button works but the Apply Filters button is disabled.

Not sure if that’s 100% the same issue you’re seeing, but if so, it’s here: https://github.com/inaturalist/iNaturalistReactNative/issues/2207

Thanks. Here are my settings:

For what it’s worth, I am not able to replicate the problem now. :)

I’m currently having this problem again right now. Can’t filter out nearby observations on the identification page. @tiwane

Nevermind it’s working again
