EOL images don’t work for me either trying to import them for taxa.

Here I was thinking that encyclopedia of life just never had photos for anything…

This is probably an issue on eol’s side. If I try to load the eol home page, only 2 of the images on the page load. Everything else shows up as a broken image.
FWIW, I think eol hasn’t been functioning that great for the last few years. The last update I heard from anyone there was in 2019 and it didn’t sound good: “EOL staff is down to a skeleton crew, so things are moving forward at a slower pace than we would like.” It might be a good idea for us to prepare for the contingency of the site’s demise, although I have no idea if that’s an actual likelihood or not. Just a possibility we should consider.

Huh? It’s dieing?
I don’t know if it’s dying, and I don’t want to start any rumors, but the site hasn’t been doing that great for the past year. Maybe they will upgrade things and it will get back into shape.

I don’t know the situation at EoL, but I know from experience that getting funding to create an information portal is fairly easy, but finding funding to maintain an information portal is near impossible.
