Thumbnail image on taxon page broken/all black

Platform (Android, iOS, Website): Website

Browser, if a website issue (Firefox, Chrome, etc) : Opera and Chrome

  1. Go to https://www.inaturalist.org/taxa/904341-Trichonephila-plumipes
  2. The first thumbnail image is totally broken. At that link it appears as an all black square

in the edit photos screen and on individual observations, however, it appears as the broken image symbol

I can easily remove it, but I’m interested in how it broke in the first place. The magnifying glass button is broken so I can’t zoom in on it, and can’t right click it either

here’s the photo record:

i think they’ve been cleaning up situations where images may not have been stored in the right place (or in multiple locations). i’m not exactly sure why this was done, but i think it could be related to https://forum.inaturalist.org/t/human-obs-used-for-cyberbullying/42458/166 and https://forum.inaturalist.org/t/human-obs-used-for-cyberbullying/42458/125.

Found one yesterday - and deleted it from the taxon pictures.
We need The Default taxon picture to provide useful information.

this one looks the same as the first example. the taxon page refers to a file in the AWS Open Dataset bucket, but the photo is all rights reserved.

Hello,
Yesterday morning (Pacific time) we started a migration of photos to comply with current licenses.
This should be finished in a few hours, we will then automatically fix the broken links on the Taxa pages, by re-indexing taxa.
Sorry for the inconvenience and thank you for reporting the issue.

The two examples posted in this thread look good to me now.
