Has anyone in Perth (Western Australia) noticed an unusually low number of paper wasps this year? Every year previously we have had large numbers of paper wasps and nests (including some that would need to be knocked out of the letterbox/meter box) but this year there seem to be none. Just wondering if anyone else has observed this and what some possible explanations might be.

Yes that’s correct, it’s been a real scorcher this year so it may have made an impact.
