Description of problem:
As said in the title: 6 agreeing IDs, photo, date and location provided, but no research grade reached.
Both you and another user have clicked “ID can be improved” in the DQA, which prevents the observation from becoming RG.
can the Community Taxon be improved?
That wording is confusing if you are new to iNat. I often see it used by newbies in the sense of – I have given it my best shot, please help.
That question buried at the bottom is intended for – this cannot be IDed further without – dissection, or lab work, or too many possible sp.
PS when 2 agree and the obs looks as if it should be RG, scroll thru the DQA options. And then down to the last ‘hidden’ question. And then check for Opted Out of CID.
I think the other user has clicked “ID can be improved” because they may think the individual in the photo cannot be identified to species level. It could be Crocallis tusciaria rather than Crocallis elinguaria (although I personally think the current ID is correct).
But I don’t know why you clicked it…
Thanks for explaining this to me: that was indeed the problem. My bad.
I used that knowledge to correct other occurences…
