Observation date missing

#1

Have an observation ,(wild insect) that now says “casual”. Was Research Grade previously. It says the observation date is not recorded. Open the edit feature and the date and time are there. ???

Thanks

The date and time are not on the main page of the observation

Can you please share the URL of the observation? It’s easy to check out an issue if there are specific details.

Tony, I found out that I did not adjust the time stamp when I uploaded. My dslr is 12 hours slow and has been a problem for a while. I’ve reset the time in the camera but does not seem to work. I need to have it looked at, especially prior to City Nature Challenge.

Thanks

Here’s a URL of another one: https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/1564828

Can you help me understand why the date isn’t appearing on this “casual” observation although there is a date in the metadata? Thanks.

They might have opted to not import exif data, and placed the pin manually. You could ask them to add the date (and cite the metedata date) in a comment, but if they are an absentee observer then it’s pretty much stuck.

Without knowing exactly how the users uploaded their photos, it’s difficult to diagnose the cause(s) here, whether it’s user error or a bug on the iNat end.
