Unless I have missed it, it doesn’t seem like you can read people’s profile page on the app. Or at least not on samsung.
As that is where users often put their expertise and when (or if ever) they would like to be tagged, I think this would mitigate a lot of over-tagging identifiers who cannot assist.
It’s also just nice to be able to read what taxon people are interested in or what led them to use inaturalist. And because a lot of users only use the app, they can’t do this.
I also think it would also increase the popularity of projects if people can more easily see what projects people are in.
I understand that the app is harder to add features to than the website, though.
I moved this to Bug Reports because one should be able to see another user’s bio in the Android app - that’s how it previously worked.
That being said, dev attention is focused on iNaturalist Next, where you definitely can view someone’s bio, so fixing this in the current Android app is not high priority.
I’ll chip in here- I have never been able to read other users bios on the android app since I first downloaded it- I always assumed it was exclusive to the website. Good to know it is a bug, and won’t be an issue on iNat Next
