Phoebe-bombed! Is there a Project for interactions w wild animals?

I had a crazy interaction with an Eastern Phoebe. The observation with amusing video links is here.

I searched iNat’s Projects for human/non-human interactions or encounters but couldn’t find any. Surely there is an anthro-biologist studying this kind of thing?

Never seen one, but someone should absolutely make it now!

Certainly not the first time with this species - see this (in)famous observation:

It’s funny that you post that link. When I logged in this morning to post my Phoebe observation, your link was the observation of the day. Synchronicity!

Maybe the Phoebes of the world secretly have our species all figured out, and are just waiting for the right opportunity…

Seriously though, as to your question, I’m not aware of any such project either, though I haven’t tried a detailed search. Since every observation on iNaturalist is to some degree an interaction between a human and another species, one would have to give some thought as to what criteria make an observation eligible for the project.

This one covers a specific type of interaction, but there is the Hand Feeding project https://www.inaturalist.org/projects/hand-feeding

I wonder, does this count as hand-feeding?

Somebody added one of my butterfly observations to that project because it was licking the skin salts from my toes. That counts as hand-feeding if we revive a term from Darwin’s time: quadrumana for the Primates.

Agreed. What’s curiosity vs aggression? It probably wouldn’t be helpful for me to set up such a project without some specific study objectives. I figured someone had already done it. My searches (of Project titles?) didn’t turn anything up.
