I am setting up a bioblitz in Queenstown for April 2026 and I am looking for some extra help! If anyone has any resources or contacts for local experts in the region which I could contact that would be great.
I also would like to know any cheap ways of renting marquees or equipment for the day, it is all so expensive!
It would also be helpful to know if you’re looking for help only for in-person logistics, or if you’re also looking for information/resources specific to iNaturalist (e.g. users who can help you set up and manage a project, those who are familiar with your local organisms who can help identify observations, those who can show up in person and help participants use the app, etc).
I looked at the iNat profile of the account hollyadams, to try to get clues on which Queenstown (there seem to be 5 possible Queenstown locations). But that account has only ever done 2 casual observations, some years ago, neither of which have a location specified.
If that is your account @hollyadams, you might want to get a bit more practice with iNat yourself, before running a BioBltiz. Or perhaps you put an incorrect iNat account in your Forum profile?
Hi! It looks like you are pretty new to iNat, so I would highly recommend getting acquainted with iNat before you do the event. There is an iNat guide to bioblitzes, and there’s many a forum discussion on the pitfalls and issues to look out for with these kinds of events.
