Description of problem:
I doubt the issue is replicable because it has never happened to me before as well.
This what happened:
I loaded the page and filtered it for butterflies, I saw that I had received a new notification. When I clicked it, it showed me that I, myself, had added a field to one of my own observations, https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/279642588.
I really did add that field, but I don’t think I’m supposed to get a notification for that.
I get the same notification for observation fields.
The right user - but the notification is unnecessary.

Step 1: I made a change in my own observation.
Step 2: I got a notification for that.
These seem to be related so I moved your post to this existing topic.
Maybe a hint that I made the observation field change in the Edit observation page, not at the ordinary observation page.
