this does seem more or less resolved. there is still some underlying inconsistency with stuff getting left outside of <p> </p> after a <hr> tag, but the markdown in such cases seems to be interpreted correctly now. so the comments display correctly, and you wouldn’t notice any inconsistencies unless looking at the html code.
