Small clicks/chirps in bat detection

Hi there, I recently picked up a fairly cheapo Bat Detector, the Magenta thing. Since trying it out I’ve noticed something odd on my recordings. Fairly regular chirps, more like a Krkrkrk sound, lasting maybe a 20th of a second. I’m just wondering if this is part of the bat language. I thought it was noise from something local as it seems pretty regular, until last night when I had three bats flying in my and other local gardens. The sound disappeared while they were flying close and hunting, but started again when they flew off around the local houses. It was really noticeable that there were multiple krkrk sounds when there were multiple bats. I thought it might be a way of saying ‘I’m here’.

Anyway, just wondering. What do you guys think?

Ooo, I should mention I’m pretty sure they’re the common Pip in the UK, on 45Khz.

Perhaps a “feeding buzz”. They make short accelerating echolocation calls just before they catch a prey.

The best thing to do would be to somehow upload a recording or the sonogram from the recording to iNaturalist (or this forum).
