Small Underwater Light Recommendations

There’s several small creeks in my city that I would like to get some photos/videos of trout in, however it is illegal to fish them. I am not the greatest with dipnetting, so I am considering utilizing my GoPro and a 4ft extension pole I purchased to get a glimpse of the guys. However the stream is pretty well covered in some sections so as a result the lighting isn’t the best. My theoretical solution is to attach a dive light to the pole/camera to get a better shot. Is this feasible and if so, do y’all have any specific product recommendations?

It’s feasible but why not buy a submersible light that is compatible with the GoPro? There’s a selection selling for under $100, including some around $25. i have friends who dive to 20 m (ish) with GoPro gear, including lights, so I don’t think finding something that can deal with 4 feet will be a problem. I use an Olympus T6 so I can’t offer brand preference but for shallow water I don-t think you would need anything beyond the budget options.

I’ve used a simple LED headlamp inside a ziplock bag (squeeze out as much air as possible before closing) for something similar. It worked fine and cost me one ziplock bag and a bit of tape. I wouldn’t try this in more than a few feet of water.
