Special character encoding in Android app

I couldn’t find an existing bug report for this, apologies if it’s a duplicate. In the Android app version 1.17.16 (405), special characters like < don’t appear to be handled correctly. For example, the observation I created on the website that includes < in the notes/description field has that character and everything after it missing when the observation is displayed in the app. Maybe because some html tags are allowed in the notes field, and the app is displaying it as an invalid unclosed html tag instead of a special character?
