I just learned about Seek and INaturalist installed both and was incredibly excited.
Then I start using the apps for a few days.
Then I learn I can’t upload from google photos to Seek.
Then I learn I can’t upload from INaturalist to Seek
Then I learn I’ll lose Seek data on new phone
Then I learn I can’t sync Seek between devices
Then I see hundreds of posts complaining about same issues for years
Then I read stories from longterm users that lose all their data
Hearing stories like this https://forum.inaturalist.org/t/how-to-transfer-seek-observations-to-new-phone/9573/6 it is just absurd the level of disrespect you have to have for your users time and effort. There should be massive warnings that all of your data will be lost and disrespected. It’s tragic but I am thankful others posted about the loss of their years of data so I can avoid the same pitfall by using the app.
I wanted a real world pokedex app.
Why cripple the app with not being able to save your data permanently?
