Tap to hide overlay in photo viewer

New apps (iNaturalistReactNative)

Feature request details:

In the legacy iOS app, when viewing a photo, you could tap the screen to hide the overlay (the parts of the screen that show the # of photos in the observation, the thumbnails, as well as the phone’s top info bar with the clock and such) then tap again to bring it back. In the new ReactNative app, I can’t hide this overlay.

I often use the iNat app to quickly show a photo to a friend or family member. I might zoom in on the photo a bit to fill the screen, show the intended subject, or frame it in a particular way. In the new app, the info overlay won’t disappear so I can’t view “just the photo” - I would like to be able to do that.

For illustration, this shows old app (what I’d like) compared to the new app:

I understand this is a minor request and not a priority, but I appreciate it being considered. Thanks!

PS: On the off chance it matters, my iOS device is still on iOS 16.x
