Thanks for adding the new colors to the names for taxon ranks this morning! I think they’re pretty and make the website feel more vibrant.
where on the site is this?
Same. Is the color is being added by a browser extension?
I don’t think it’s a plugin on my computer, it looks like part of iNaturalist: I see green for plant taxa; orange for insect taxa; blue for misc. others like collembola and crustacea. Maybe arachnids and snails are grey, or something is weird on the iNat roll-out end of things?
All of them show up as grey on mine as well. Maybe its only rolled out to certain users?
Where are MY colours ? Please ?
Aww man, those look so cool! But they aren’t showing up in my obs yet. Maybe I should re-install inat or smthin?
Are you sure? Try viewing the site with your browser in troubleshoot mode so that all plugins/user-scripts and such like are disabled.
Also: why is this a bug report? Was your OP meant to be ironic/sarcastic?
No colors for me, either. A/B testing on iNat’s side of things, or a browser extension, are my guesses. Hoping for the former as I like the colors!
I moved this back to General as I don’t think there is a bug present (other than some flies).
@tiwane what’s going on with this?
Not sure. No one here has provided any URLs, or any wider screenshots. As far as I know nothing has changed.
EDIT: I’m not seeing anything different at inaturalist.org/home or https://www.inaturalist.org/home?tab=yours
I swear I’ve had that happen before to me a few years ago. Didn’t think much about it and went away after a few days.
Thanks. I tried using troubleshoot mode which turns off all plugins, and the colors still showed up. But I tried using the Edge browser (I usually use Firefox 138.0.1) and the colors went away.
I changed it from a ‘general’ to ‘bug report’ topic when I noticed that everyone else was saying that this was just something happening on my end, and irrelevant on their end.
