could you please expand on what the issue is here; I’m not quite understanding what you’re saying is wrong with the map

but how are you getting to the view shown in your second screenshot? By zooming out with ctrl + mousewheel (or equivalent)? If yes, then I don’t see how this is a bug, seems like normal browser behaviour to me.

I wanted the red squares to be smaller for detail. And so, I found a solution to this problem by clicking on the 4 arrows (I recently found out about this)

when I click the 4 arrows, my map fills the whole page/goes full screen as it should:

what browser are you in. Could you list out the exact steps you went through to reach the point you did (the bug report template helps to provide as much info as possible, so always ideal to fill it out)

okay, it also works for me if you open the full screen with zoom.

sounds like the immediate problem has been addressed, and the thread should probably be closed at this point. it seems unlikely any changes will be made to the screen based on https://forum.inaturalist.org/t/support-scaling-for-widescreen-ultra-wide-monitors-on-desktop/38844.
