Trouble making a place

I’m making a project for the Christmas Bird Count that I compile, and I was trying to create a place so people could see the boundaries and have a .kml to upload but it wouldn’t take it, it said:
There were problems importing that place: Latitude can’t be blank, Longitude can’t be blank, File was invalid or did not contain any polygons, Place geometry can’t be blank

However when I uploaded this to google maps, it did upload. Any suggestions on what I’m doing wrong?

I’m having the same issue. I found this thread, but am still stumped after getting the error using only the boundary and no other featuers: https://forum.inaturalist.org/t/error-code-when-trying-to-add-a-kml-file-to-create-a-new-place/14123/6

Google Maps is more forgiving than iNat in accepting kml files with small issues. We’ll need to see the actual file contents in order to troubleshoot. I would suggest you either open the kml in a text editor like notepad and copy/paste the text here in the forum or upload the file to something like google drive and share the link here.

Is that what is needed?

Not exactly. I might be able to find the problem if I export that MyMap, but it also might change something in the export. And the MyMap isn’t publicly accessible right now anyway.
If you copy/paste, it should look something like this:

That file doesn’t conform to the kml standard.

I pasted your coordinates into a correctly formed kml file. If you copy this into a plain text editor and save it as a kml, it should work.

The header of the original file was not correct?

There is extraneous information outside of any tags, and there are missing tags, both at the top and the bottom.

Thank you very much, I just got it on there. It looks great.
